Year 1 - Fall Term CRJ-501 FOUNDATIONS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE 3 Examines the nature, application and impact of various theoretical approaches, practices and assumptions regarding the function and operation of the law enforcement, judicial, and corrections elements of the juvenile and criminal justice systems.
Year 1 - Fall Term CRJ-550 GRADUATE SEMINAR 3 This unique course provides an opportunity for instructors to “pick the subject”. This course will focus on developing graduate level writing and research skills. This skill building will be done within the context of discussion of an array of selected topics in juvenile justice.
Year 1 - Spring Term CRJ-600 RESEARCH METHODS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE 3 A survey of empirical research methods and their application in the field of criminal justice; includes research design, theories of sampling, data collection strategies, and analysis of findings.
Year 1 - Spring Term CRJ-560 THEORIES OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY 3 Examines the etiology of criminal behavior including the process of becoming a criminal, patterns of criminal behavior, and the social and individual consequences of crime and delinquency.
Year 1 - Summer Term I CRJ-635 RESTORATIVE JUSTICE 3 Examines the elements of the Restorative Justice Model and its application for criminal justice policy and practice.  The restorative justice model features classical criminology, victimology, and cognitive therapy. Instructs students on three elements of the BARJ Model that includes community protection, youth accountability, and competency development.
Year 1 - Summer Term I CRJ-595 PRACTICUM IN ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE 3 Students will conceptualize and evaluate an existing program at their agency, employing the knowledge gained in their studies in solving problems relevant to the field of juvenile justice.
Year 1 - Summer Term II CRJ-590 CRIMINAL JUSTICE POLICY ANALYSIS 3 Analysis of the process by which the policy decisions in criminal justice are derived and implemented and their consequence on the criminal justice system.
Year 2 - Fall Term CRJ-610 QUANTITATIVE METHODS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE 3 Examines the relationship and application of statistical techniques to theory building and concept construction. Includes an overview of statistical methods with an emphasis on the juvenile justice system.
Year 2 - Fall Term CRJ-520 CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT 3 Studies bureaucracy and complex organizations with emphasis on the concepts and practices of the administration and management of agencies in the juvenile justice system.
Year 2 - Spring Term CRJ-585 OFFENDER TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION 3 Offers in-depth exposure to various treatment modalities emphasizing the development of clinical, casework, and community organization skills.
Year 2 - Spring Term CRJ-597 PRACTICUM IN ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE 3 Students will conceptualize and evaluate an existing program at their agency, employing the knowledge gained in their studies in solving problems relevant to the field of juvenile justice.
Year 2 - Summer Term I CRJ-580 JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM 3 Examines the goals, organization and operations of agencies and institutions that work with delinquent offenders including the history, philosophy, and current issues in the field.
