Statistical Overview
The following reports provide an annual overview of juvenile court dispositions in Pennsylvania and summarize information provided by county juvenile probation departments.
The reports would not be possible without the funding and support of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) and the information supplied by the Courts of Common Pleas and juvenile probation departments of the Commonwealth.
In an effort to enhance the presentation of data, tables, graphs and charts have been included. Although the reports focus primarily on delinquency dispositions, information has been included on dependency cases which have been referred to juvenile probation departments. While county children and youth agencies handle the overwhelming majority of cases involving dependent children in the Commonwealth, some juvenile probation departments provide services to children who are alleged to be dependant on the basis of ungovernability or chronic truancy.
The information contained in these reports is of value to all individuals, agencies and organizations having an interest in Pennsylvania's juvenile justice system. However, it is not intended to reflect the total workload of juvenile courts or juvenile probation departments.
