CCELC ONLINE TRAINING
The Center for Juvenile Justice Training & Research in co-sponsorship with Community Corrections e-Learning Collaborative (CCELC) and The Education Coalition (TEC) announce the availability of five on-line training courses:
Four of the five current courses are being used by 64 federal, state, and local probation and parole agencies across 22 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada. The fifth course - Pennsylvania's Juvenile Act – was developed recently as a component of the Orientation training for new officers, as well as to provide a refresher course for veteran officers on our most critical piece of legislation. CJJT&R will recognize these courses as approved training towards the 40-hour annual requirement. JCJC training funds may be used to cover registration fees.
Logistics :
The PA Juvenile Act course is one week in duration and facilitated by JCJC/CJJT&R staff; all others are two weeks and facilitated by expert trainers. The courses allow you to work at times that best suit your schedule, 24/7; you don't have to be online at a specific time. Classes have 20 or fewer students to foster collaborative learning. You will spend 60 to 90 minutes a day on the course and may participate from any computer or laptop (home or work), which has a 56k modem and Internet access. A short orientation course is required for new students to familiarize them with the technology and facilitated learning. Credit will NOT be awarded for this short orientation course.
Tuition Fees:
When taken as a part of the Orientation for New Officers training, the tuition for the online learner orientation and the Juvenile Act courses are included in that registration fee.
Tuition for the Juvenile Act course (as a stand-alone course) and all other CCELC courses includes all course materials and can be paid by an agency purchase order/check or personal check; one must be received to provide course access. Tuition fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to another course or student if course space exists.
